The author likens his renewed concluding admonition to a good phrase repeated in a beautiful song. Repetition is thus defended as deliberate emphasis rather than accidental redundancy. What returns is the priority of knowing the heavenly stone, or at least preparing spiritual and bodily work earnestly together, before pursuing the earthly stone. The musical comparison gives form to the warning: the ending recalls the beginning because the outcome depends on how the undertaking starts. Clausul here is the repeated phrase within the song, not a new laboratory operation.
