Psalm 25 is the printed heading of the short motto opening Part One. Its question asks who fears the Lord, and its answer promises that God will instruct that person in the best way. The scriptural reference thus establishes a relationship between reverence and guidance before the ensuing account of prayer, knowledge and work. No verse number is supplied in the historical heading. The English joins the chapter number to the title typographically, but preserves the same reference and wording. This entry identifies the motto’s local function rather than supplying an expanded commentary on the whole psalm.
