Lucas Jennis and Frankfurt imprint

Meaning

The 1619 title page states that the book is available from Lucas Jennis and gives the Latinized Frankfurt imprint. This is bibliographical evidence for the edition's advertised distribution and date, not evidence that Jennis wrote the anonymous main treatise or all its companions. The wording “available from” also should not be silently expanded into a full modern account of printing, financing, or editorial responsibility. The title's claim of concordance among appended books is a separate feature of the same presentation.
