Keeping its place concludes the riddle's movement from union through dissolution and separation to renewed gathering. In Part II: matter and the work · unit 32 body, soul and spirit come together again and remain in true perfection. The phrase therefore expresses stability of the restored conjunction rather than an instruction about a workbench position. The English 'keeps its place' retains the spatial image without pretending it supplies a separate technical test. Its meaning is governed by the preceding reunion and the concluding language of glorification and joy.
