Meaning

The Isaiah heading introduces the motto to Part Two: God lays in Zion a tested, precious and firmly founded cornerstone, and whoever has it will not be put to shame. The placement allows the material Stone to be read under a scriptural sign before the later explicit Christological comparison. The English “Whoever has it” follows the supplied wording and should not be silently replaced with a familiar wording from another Bible translation. The heading supplies a chapter but no verse number in this unit. Its function is framing and promise, not independent proof of a chemical interpretation of Isaiah.
