Meaning

The adverb rendered “in drops” describes a gradual downward return in the material work. The descending moisture imbibes, refreshes, and gives drink to the body so that it does not languish and burn. Its role is therefore restorative movement within the account, not an independent ingredient or a prescribed dose. The surrounding passage also describes renewed ascent and descent and warns against haste. A reader should not detach the vivid droplet image from its dependence on the work's condition and governed heat.
