Christology is an analytical label for the text’s account of Christ’s person, divine and human natures, and saving work. It is useful for finding related articles, but it is not presented as an attested German headword. The relevant historical wording must be read in the passages on Incarnation, union of natures, suffering, resurrection and communicated perfection.
In particular, the completed perfection attributed to Christ is not the same thing as the believer’s ongoing renewal. Fermentation or multiplication in recipients does not mean that an initially defective Christ is improved by human activity. Likewise the material analogy does not make divine action identical with an operator’s manipulation of a vessel. The supplied keyword essay is commentary on these distinctions; it is not another historical voice within Part IV.
