Nutz is benefit or usefulness: what the art is said to afford its possessor and others. In the main treatise’s programme, it is distinguished from the description of matter and preparation, and paired with bestowed power and virtue. This gives the third part its purpose. It is not merely an inventory of profitable outputs, nor is ‘virtue’ here restricted to moral character.
The English ‘exceedingly abundant usefulness’ retains the rhetorical intensity of the promise. The same programme assigns a separate fourth part to spiritual allegory, so material benefit and theological application are related but not interchangeable section labels. Subsequent claims must be read as the promised exposition of efficacy, not as efficacy verified by the edition.
