Apophatic is the editor’s term for language that qualifies or denies ordinary predicates when speaking of God. In Part IV: the spiritual comparison · unit 17, the author’s description of God as the being of all beings is placed beside a denial that God is a being in the ordinary way. The tension is intentional in the supplied wording; neither half should be removed to produce a more familiar modern proposition.
This label helps readers locate the paradox but does not establish a complete philosophical system behind it. The lexicon distinguishes the author’s assertion, the note’s analytical description and any later reader’s explanation. The actual historical terms for being and divine nature remain the primary lexical evidence.
