Meaning
Scalichius is the final witness named in the p. 147 list. The modern editor identifies the printed Scalichio with Paulus Scalichius, also called Pavao Skalić.
Use in the book
The list follows the statement that the deliberate offender will be devoured by Azazel according to the doctrine attributed to the Hebrews. Its local placement establishes the use Khunrath makes of the name. It does not quote Scalichius or identify a particular work as the source.
A source-limited dictionary entry is therefore more appropriate than an expanded biography or a summary of writings never named here. The name is significant as part of the authority claimed for an ethical threat, not because the treatise provides a separate exposition of this witness's philosophy.
