Meaning
Ōchros denotes a pale or yellowish color. In this edition its color-classification use is rendered pale yellow.
Use in the book
The Pythagorean report lists it beside white, black, and red. The Timaeus quotation distinguishes it from xanthos, golden yellow, and describes it as a mixture of white with that color. Consistency preserves the difference between the two terms even where the textual tradition is uncertain.
