hate; abhor

Meaning

Dikaiosyne hates the larger share and rejoices in equality; Hades alone hates Health (LXIII.10; LXVIII.6). The verb names strong aversion, but its moral role depends on the subject and object. The two clauses do not make hatred itself uniformly righteous or uniformly blameworthy.
