- course; journey
Meaning
Night’s dark journey is what Dawn sends beneath the earth at her rising (LXXVIII.4–5). The noun is the object continued into the next line, not a description of Dawn’s own route. Its darkness comes from the modifiers, while πορεία supplies the movement or course.
