English renderings
causing many groans

Meaning

Daimon is asked to drive away cares of many groans at LXXIII.7. The adjective makes the suffering of those cares audible. The apparatus reports πολύσπορα, “many-seeded,” instead; that alternative changes their characterization and is not an interchangeable spelling of the adopted lament-word.
