Meaning

ἅπας emphasizes total reach in divine generation, knowledge and rule, but also in ordinary groups such as all initiates or all beasts. Kronos consumes and renews everything; the Muses' and other gods' benefits reach whole communities. As with πᾶς, the noun or local context supplies the relevant totality. Repeated universality is a feature of praise, not proof by itself of one philosophical doctrine.
