Meaning
The Prayer invokes a revered daimon in contrast with a daimon harmful to mortals. At XLVIII.4 the same adjective marks Mount Tmolus, where the narrative places Hipta. The word can therefore dignify a divine being or a sacredly significant place; it is not restricted to one class of recipient.
