Nisi marks consequential restrictions rather than optional details. Without hidden fatness no metal could be brought into fusion; without prior sublimation the specified calcined Mercury will not revive; internal metallic preparations are excluded unless made volatile and irreducible. Reading these clauses preserves the author’s necessary conditions. Omitting them would turn qualified claims into universal promises the text does not make.
