A small implement for removing surface products from metal plates, including vitriol, ceruse and lazurium. Its repeated collecting or brushing role links preparations later described as sharing a process without identical preparation. The copper passage permits another chosen means of removal as an alternative. Thus the hare’s foot belongs to handling the product, while the particular waters and metals determine the differing preparation contexts.
