The aqua regis paragraph says that this water undertakes to dissolve no metal except refined gold alone. The exclusivity belongs to the printed historical claim and should neither be silently weakened to “especially gold” nor adopted as a modern chemical rule. Tracking solum and nullum preserves what the author asserts while keeping the edition’s critical distinction from current knowledge.
