Cooperatio names the repeated interaction of conditions through which Book 2 claims to produce out-of-season plants and mature ores. It follows the rain-and-sun analogy and so represents art as working with a natural pattern rather than creating independently of it. The blood paragraph prints the different form cooptatione, rendered “cooperation” in the edition; the printed difference should remain visible rather than be treated as one exact Latin form.
