These historical mineral names occur in the catalogue of products and in assignments of metallic first beings. Their spelling and scope are not securely equivalent to one modern purified substance. Zinetum appears with several metals’ first beings, making it especially misleading to force a single-element reading. The edition retains the names rather than concealing this uncertainty behind a more familiar modern label.
