The opening definition of death combines destruction of former powers and nature with generation of a new and different nature. These coordinated nouns describe transformation rather than mere disappearance. Eversio elsewhere names the bodily overthrow after which spirit separates. The meaning depends on what is overthrown and what remains; the work does not say every destruction abolishes all material resources or every effective power.
