Meaning

Lemma.

The point is the small generative locality within a body, closely joined to centre and the place of seed. Its function is to prevent readers from equating the entire material body with the effective seed. The author assigns it the printed proportion one in 8,200, which the supplied edition preserves. This is his historical quantitative claim, not a verified universal ratio. The later Sulphur treatise refers back but prints 280 (Sulphur · Air · Passage 2; note n73); the discrepancy is preserved, not harmonized.
