inward nature

Meaning

Form.

The inward part of an element is distinguished from its outward appearance and properties. Earth’s inward nature is linked to fire and its purification; its centre is called supremely pure and like an empty place receiving other elements’ actions. The term therefore signals a relation between manifest body and hidden constitutive power, not merely a geometrical interior without causal significance.
