- at harvest time
Meaning
Phrase.
Harvest is the projected moment at which the worker expects a valuable result from his supposed sowing. Mercury says that he disappears then and leaves the alchemist harvesting dung. The agricultural time-image tests the relation between input and outcome: desire and quotation do not alter what the treatment actually yields. It is a comic result statement, not a specified duration for an operation.
