Meaning
The work locates natural order in the continuing force of divine creation. A creature receives a particular constitution and activity; its regular operation is not an autonomous alternative to the Word. Law and order can therefore describe the stability of a created kind while the author continues to deny that nature acts independently.
Use in the book
The most general statement connects the Word’s eternity and unchangeability with nature’s constancy (pp. 76-77, II.076.2). Every nature maintains its order precisely and inviolably. Day, night, sun, moon and stars offer visible examples of regular course and alternation. The passage gives regularity theological grounding; it does not supply an equation relating measurable variables.
The generative account is more specific (pp. 130-131, II.130.2). God implants a definite law and order together with particular life and the activity of bringing forth living creatures. Those creatures thereafter reproduce through their own seed. Law concerns continuity of kind and appropriate agency, not just the regular recurrence of an outward event.27
The immediate human limit follows (pp. 131-132, II.131.1-II.131.2). Operators cannot alter the Most High’s order or speak the same creative agency into the elements. They may nevertheless prepare and tincture in accordance with nature. Natural constancy therefore allows certain improvements while excluding a claim to originating wholly new powers at will.
The art’s timing provides another aspect of order. Nature works by degrees and brings nothing before its time; the operator’s diligence and management of fire affect whether a process finishes sooner, later or is spoiled (pp. 167-170, II.167.1-II.169.1). The relation is not simple mechanical inevitability. A fixed nature can have conditions of successful development that practice must respect.
The Second Letter uses immutable decrees to defend the continued distinction of primordial light from the luminaries (p. 214, II.214.1-II.214.2). The later command establishing sun and stars does not abolish the earlier light. The source’s order concept supports persistence of created identities, not only regular motion. This belongs to the reply’s position in the light dispute.
The world’s end requires an important qualification (pp. 230-231, II.230.1). Particular decrees and the present particular natures cease through resolution, while universal natures endure and are transformed through their relation to the eternal substantial Word. This is a future divine act within the author’s eschatology. It should not be used to make the earlier prohibition on human alteration of natural order disappear.

Translation
Law and order renders the source’s paired expression. Order can also translate the Latin or German vocabulary without implying that every occurrence states a separate universally quantified law.
Unchangeable must be interpreted with the allowed maturation, balancing and tincturing. In these arguments it preserves essential nature and appointed scope, rather than declaring that no qualities or material conditions can ever change.
Connections
Blessing and command identifies the implantation of a particular task. Creation and imitation explains art’s limited permission. Labour and patience follows the temporal discipline, while World and its end examines the final transformation rather than treating it as an ordinary present operation.
Cautions
Do not insert a modern division between scientific laws and religious commands as though it were the book’s own organizing distinction. The author gives the Word operative natural force.
The difference between a divine final resolution and a human laboratory procedure is consequential. Shared words such as change and order do not make the agency or conditions equivalent.

Source note
II.130.2 actually pairs law with order and links both to particular life and seed. The broader editorial headword is therefore anchored in an explicit phrase, while the other cited regularities illustrate related uses rather than additional quoted definitions.
