Historical definition

Annus Platonicus is a common month, or an age.

Meaning

The unusual breadth of the definition should remain visible: an ordinary month and an age are both offered. The entry does not supply a computation that would reconcile them or specify a universal duration. Readers should resist replacing it automatically with another familiar explanation of a Platonic year. In this dictionary, the immediate evidence is this twofold gloss. A dated operation, explicit number of days or discussion of an age in the surrounding source must decide the applicable scale.
