Historical definition
Alandahal, or Alhandal, is coloquintida.
Meaning
The entry is a name equivalence, not a description of preparation or action. Both spellings lead to the same historical identification, so neither should disappear from an index. A passage using one of them may still qualify the plant material by part, preparation or purpose; the dictionary’s short equation does not settle those further questions. This edition preserves coloquintida as the historical identifying name rather than adding an unsupported species-level determination.
