The later Naturkündigern likewise names students or knowers of nature, to whom a rightly called investigator should communicate the wonders discovered. Neither phrase establishes a modern professional credential or a particular institution. The audience is defined by its relation to natural inquiry, with the main work adding ethical tests for its legitimate pursuit.
