Properties as a centre’s active powers

Meaning

Properties are the qualities or powers gathered into a centre, not merely static descriptions of an object. At human creation they speak themselves together through divine movement to form one centre and light. Later a centre’s circumference is expressly called its properties, the domain into which the will can redistribute desire. The word therefore connects constitution with active relation: the properties form a whole that can be governed, nourished or disordered.
