further pursuit, going further.

Meaning

The Latin expression means further beyond or going further. Helbig says he has little desire for it: his zeal sleeps, and he is content, by God’s grace, to have attained his purpose despite travel and other business disturbing his repose. Eyfer names that zeal or earnest energy, not a technical stage of the work. The statement records a limit to the prefatory speaker’s own pursuit; it does not close the main narrator’s investigation or retract the nature-salt endorsement.
