- unsalt, corrupted salt, corrosion.
Meaning
Unsalt is a deliberately reversed or corrupted salt: the soul’s salt loses its good condition through sharp, disorderly movement. The Latin corrosio and the tastes bitter and sour reinforce the description. In the following paragraph a diabolical Corrosiv is the destructive agent that a soul transformed by God’s spirit will resist. These words carry an ethical-material analogy; they do not name a modern compound or say that a person’s soul is literally metallic.
