bath of gold, examiner, Examinator, fountain Stylangem, Vulcan, Phoebus, Bath of gold.

Meaning

The bath image assigns antimony a purifying relation to gold. The father reports Examinatorem as a name used by sages and invokes poets who describe Vulcan washing Phoebus there. Antimony is the bath, not the solar figure being washed. The difficult printed BrunnStylangem is retained without inventing a corrected fountain-name. The image belongs to the source’s explanation of purification and metallic imperfection; it is not an independently verified assertion about the solvent power of a modern antimony compound.
