Latin

Humidae Naturae volubilitatem non solum in generali Mundi, verum etiam in particulari, mixtorum harmoniâ licet obseruare: Per reuolutionem enim humidi illa generantur, nutriuntur & augentur: desiccando, humectando, & digerendo, quapropter tres illae Naturae operationes cibo, potui & somno comparantur, quia cibus sicco respondet, potus humido, somnus verò decoctioni.

English

The revolving movement of moist nature may be observed not only in the general harmony of the world, but also in the particular harmony of mixed bodies. Through the revolution of moisture they are generated, nourished, and increased: by drying, moistening, and digesting. Therefore those three operations of Nature are compared to food, drink, and sleep, because food corresponds to dryness, drink to moisture, and sleep to decoction.
