LVI.

LVI. To Adonis

fumigation from aromatics

of splendid form, rejoicing in the hunt, deep-haired,

of longing mind, sweet shoot of the Kyprian, scion of desire,

brought to birth in the bed of lovely-tressed Phersephone,

who at one time dwell beneath murky Tartaros,

and at another bring your season-ripened body to Olympos;

come, blessed one, bringing the initiates fruits from the earth.
