The Sophic Hydrolith: Opening Explanation
1619 pp. 9 · scans ER013The philosophers just named wrote truthfully and without deception about this high magistery, drawing their proof and knowledge from the true foundation and wellspring of nature. By contrast, many false pseudo-philosophers and cheats are still to be found who falsely boast that they know this art and undertake to practise it. They fraudulently misuse the writings of those philosophers as a cover for their deception, merely fooling people, making them gape and throwing a blue mist before their eyes. Both these deceivers and the people who allow themselves to be drawn in by them should carefully consider and take to heart the following warning.
