XIV.

XIV. Beside this tincture you will find every precious stone imaginable in the world. Take none of them for yourselves, but be entirely content with what the guide gives you. Always thank him heartily, and take great care not to flaunt it before the world or use it in any way contrary to God. Use it well and possess it as though you possessed nothing. Be temperate, quiet and reserved, and guard yourselves as far as possible against all sins; otherwise your brother, the conductor, will turn away and you will lose this happiness again. Take this as a sound admonition: whoever misuses the tincture, failing to live as an example before the world and purely and uprightly before God, loses it and has little hope of awakening it again.
