Original English

This is the Summe of that Magicall Embleme which Thalia communicated to me in the Minerall Region. More I cannot say of it, for I was not trusted with more in Relation to a publick and popular use. I will now proceed to a Discovery of some other Mysteries, which I received from her, and those such, as are not commonly sought after. The Basis of them all, is the visible, tangible Quintessence, or the first created unity, out of which the Physicall Tetractys did spring. I shall speak of them not in a cast artificiall Discourse and Method, but in their own Naturall Harmonicall Order, and First of all of the First Matter.

Modern English

This is the substance of the magical emblem that Thalia communicated to me in the mineral region. I cannot say more about it, for no more was entrusted to me for public and general use. I will now disclose some other mysteries that I received from her, mysteries not commonly sought. Their foundation is the visible, tangible quintessence, or first created unity, from which the physical tetractys sprang. I will discuss them in their own natural, harmonious order, rather than in an artificially shaped discourse and method; and first of all, I will discuss the first matter.
