Metaphysics is a kind of poetry of which devotion is the ode and the delirium.
What pleases above all in narrative (in history, for example, etc.) is that the mind continually passes from the known to the unknown, and from a known to which it has been led by degrees to an unknown for which it finds itself naturally prepared and which it has desired to reach.

You who have stripped away all shame and torn every veil to pieces, who dare everything and fear nothing, you are perfect wickedness, pure deformity.

The mind abounds less in sparks.
To be master is a means of loving.
Merit needs a sign, and in the eyes of the crowd wealth and power alone indicate it.
