Nature comprises the created world and its visible and invisible inhabitants.
God remains distinct from the created whole.
The author brackets the visible–invisible distinction because both have one created origin.
Nature is the mass of this present, visible world, gathered together by the Creator, with all the visible and invisible creatures contained within it: everything apart from God alone that has its being and activity in this world. Some, to make it easier for human beings to understand, have divided this world into the natural and visible and the supernatural and invisible. But that distinction does not concern us here, since we believe that each and every thing was made naturally by God from the great Chaos, or the great Nothing.
