The Concentrated Centre of Nature · Passage 59

Meanwhile accept this sincere admonition and instruction of mine in love, and follow my own experience if you do not wish to err with the great crowd. Read other authors if you will: see how obscurely they have made their meaning known, and how they agree with me. None among them has shown the neighbour the faithfulness I show here; none has brought the clarity of the human wonder-matter so openly into daylight. Their writings are like the Bible: everyone who comes upon them with a little subtlety of understanding finds one opinion or another within them and sees, if not all of it, at least many passages as written in support of his own preconception. But if anyone wishes to write something better, well, we shall see it and accept with the highest thanks that further opening into the wisdom of nature.
