The Concentrated Centre of Nature · Passage 31
English
But I go too far. Whoever wishes to know more about this may search simply in nature. My intention was first to show briefly that animals, plants, and minerals are essentially the same, differing only accidentally with respect to greater and lesser perfection; and thus that the salt of nature is found everywhere and in all things according to the condition of each matter, in due measure, number, and weight. It can be readily extracted, yet, when taken from every sort of thing, it is not powerful enough for every purpose, especially for the so-called masterpiece of the wise. It will therefore be necessary to choose the best from the whole of nature if one wishes to attain the desired goal rather than labour in vain.
