The Last Testament of a Father to His Beloved Son · Passage 5
English
For those to whom God wills to give it, it is described clearly and distinctly enough. But where he does not will to give it, he blinds the eyes of their understanding and makes them fools in this matter. Apply yourself to the wisdom that has standing before God, and let all other worldly wisdom go. Do not desire to be wise in the world’s eyes, but seek the wisdom of God’s children, which is foolishness to the world’s wise. Seek to be considered a fool by those whom the world regards as wise and prudent; for so it must be: worldly wisdom is foolishness before God, and divine wisdom is foolishness to the understanding of the worldly wise and the power of sins.
