The Concentrated Centre of Nature · Passage 33
German
An diesem 6.
English
On that sixth day all the properties spoke themselves together through divine movement to form from them all one single centre and light, so that their king should rule and govern them universally. God made this spiritual centre bodily, beyond nature’s ordinary course, through what was, as it were, a new creation in his image, as a little god to his honour. The human being, for whose sake everything had been created in the first five days, was to be like God, a lord over everything earthly, while God was lord over him. Thus God placed humanity in the middle, between the upper and the lower, set earth and water beneath its feet, and breathed through two nostrils the breath or exhalation of two lives. In Hebrew this mystery is designated, the text says, by the dual chajim: namely the breath or air of the eternal divine word or life, and the spirit of temporal air, life, or the air-word.
