Part II — Chapter 13: The Controversy Over Light
German & Latin
222Accidenti igitur (propriè & præcipuè) adhæret peccatum, sicut accidens est: Nam postquam DEUS hominem jam condiderat, peccatum demum per ipsos homines, scil. primos parentes nostros, Mandatum DEI seductione Diaboli transgredientes, teste Apostolo, fuit introductum, ergo falsissimum quoque est, DEUM authorem esse peccati.
Candida Phoenix Philosophica: Part II — Chapter 13: The Controversy Over Light
222Sin therefore attaches properly and principally to the accidental part, and is itself an accident. For, as the Apostle testifies, sin was introduced only after God had already created man, through men themselves—our first parents—who, deceived by the devil, transgressed God’s command. Thus it is utterly false that God is the author of sin.
