Candida Phoenix Philosophica: Part II — Chapter 5: Generation of Precious Stones
115–116Concerning their origin, philosophers again agree entirely, as will be repeated in the following chapter, that precious stones arise from the same matter as metals and minerals. Through the perfect red and white philosophical elixir, inferior stones—Bohemian diamonds, crystals, garnets and the like—may likewise be transformed into more perfect and better ones, such as Oriental precious stones. Broken and small gemstones may also be consolidated and enlarged. This may be read, among other places, in the Lamp of the Philosophers’ Salt.
