LXIV–LXXIX: Principles and the Herculean Works · Grand Elixir · Aphorism LXVII

Original English

LXVII. The Extraction, Purification, and Clarification of our Earth or Salt of Nature is to be perform'd by our Mercury simplex: which, being put upon the reverberated Earth, will presently draw it to it self, and unite it self with it, yet separable by gentle Distillation, after which the clarify'd Salt of the Philosophers is at hand.

Modern English

LXVII. The extraction, purification and clarification of our earth, or salt of nature, must be performed by our simple mercury. Placed on the reverberated earth, it will immediately draw that earth to itself and unite with it, yet it can be separated by gentle distillation. After this, the clarified salt of the philosophers is at hand.
