XI–XXI: Union and the Vegetable Essence · Original
Original English
XVII. The ascending of the sulphureous Medium, when the Spirit begins to carry over its own Body, to unite it self inseparably with it, evidently and certainly signifies, that you do not regulate your Fire, as you should, and that, instead of giving a gentle vaporous Heat to facilitate the Union, you give a violent one to destroy it.
Modern English
XVII. If the sulphurous medium ascends when the spirit begins to carry over its own body in order to unite inseparably with it, this clearly and certainly signifies that you are not regulating your fire as you should. Instead of providing a gentle vaporous heat to facilitate the union, you are providing a violent heat to destroy it.
