Original English

LXXXVII. The Infant being dry, the Imbibition is to be repeated again, and this Method is to be us'd, until the Matter has receiv'd its weight of the Mercury: at which time if you do not find it to flow like Wax, and be whiter then any Snow, and very fixt, you must proceed with your Imbibitions, until you perceive the same.

Modern English

LXXXVII. When the infant is dry, the imbibition must be repeated. This method must be used until the matter has received its own weight of mercury. If at that time you do not find it flowing like wax, whiter than any snow and very fixed, you must continue your imbibitions until you perceive these signs.
