XXII–XXXI: Powers, Limits and Further Regeneration · Original
Original English
XXIV. Thô this Menstruum is only specificated upon Vegetables, it will nevertheless in a moment draw the Tincture out of Metals and Minerals; but it will not separate all their Principles, not being the appropriated Menstruum for such Operations; and thô such Sulphurs are highly balsamic for the Lungs and Spleen, yet since our Elixir Proprietatis far exceeds those praeternatural Preparations, we only give this as a curious Chymical Experiment.
Modern English
XXIV. Although this menstruum is specified only for vegetables, it will nevertheless draw the tincture from metals and minerals in a moment. It will not, however, separate all their principles, because it is not the menstruum suited to such operations. Although these sulphurs are highly balsamic for the lungs and spleen, our elixir of properties far surpasses those unnatural preparations. We give this only as a curious chemical experiment.
